It was a night of celebration as the Warhawk Seniors swam their final home meet at the Brandon Aquatic Center. There was a wellspring of emotions at the capping of a four year journey for two of Brandon’s best and brightest student athletes.
Brandon Senior Captain Rachael Griffin garnered a first place finish in the 100 Freestyle and a second place finish in the 50 Freestyle. She finishes her regular season with the 10th fastest time on record in school history in the 200 Freestyle, the 5th fastest in the 100 Backstroke, and the 9th fastest in the 100 Fly. She will take one more shot at the 50 and 100 Freestyle next weekend in Fenton.
Fellow Brandon Senior Rayven Sterner finished third in the 50 Freestyle with a new best time, and first in the 100 Breaststroke. She then followed up her signature race by facing off against her coach in a 50 Breaststroke achieving a new best time in the exhibition sprint event. She finishes her regular season with the 8th fastest 200 IM, the 10th fastest 100 Butterfly, the 9th fastest 100 Backstroke, 12th fastest 200 Freestyle, 6th fastest 500 Freestyle, and 13th fastest 100 Freestyle. She looks to improve her spot in the 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle next weekend in Fenton.
The whole Warhawks squad is ready to take on their peers in the Flint Metro League next weekend in Fenton.
