The Brandon Seven made their presence felt at the Metro League Championships. Team Captain Jake Carney led the way by getting Fourth in the 100 Freestyle (53.09), then following that up with a 1st Place Tie with Schwartz Creek Flushing’s Joshua Stemczynski in the 100 Breaststroke (1:04.18). Carney not only got the State Cut for D3 Swimming, but he broke the school record as well.
Noah Cox also had new personal bests, dropping five seconds in the 100 Breaststroke (1:12.09) and placing fourth, and finally breaking a minute in the 100 Freestyle (59.57) to place 14th.
Joseph Tomei had great races of his own, dropping one second in the 100 Freestyle (55.35) to get 9th and eight in the 200 Freestyle (2:02.43) to take 6th.
Logan Shay placed 13th in the 50 Freestyle (27.69), and went a (1:05.04) in his 100 Freestyle to place 20th.
Also in the 50 Freestyle was teammate Nick Carney, who got 12th with a time of 27.38. The younger Carney also placed 6th in Diving with a score of 216.10.
Elliot “The French Guy” Le Bourlieux posted a personal best in the 50 Freestyle (32.54) and placed 11th in the 100 Breaststroke (1:36.96).
Finally we had Marek Sosnoski who took 4th in the 50 Freestyle (24.72) and 9th in the 100 Butterfly (1:03.92).
As for their Relays, while the 200 Freestyle and the 400 Freestyle were Disqualified for False Starts, the 200 Medley Relay took 3rd (1:55.44). Noah Cox led with the Backstroke (31.89), Jake Carney followed with Breaststroke (28.93), Marek Sosnoski swam Butterfly (28.01), and the anchor leg of Freestyle was swum by Nick Carney (26.61).
