Blackhawks News · Athletic Update – June 3, 2020 – Summer Guidance and Sports Physical Requirements

Wednesday June 3, 2020

Hello Blackhawk Athletes and Families!

I hope this update finds you well!  Over the last few days, Governor Whitmer has lifted the “Safer at Home” order and has allowed Outdoor athletic activities to take place in groups of less than 100 people.  The Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) has also provided updates on summer activity and re-opening guidance for school athletics.  Below are the two most recent documents provided from the MHSAA.

MHSAA/NFHS Guidance for Re-Opening School Sports – 5/29/20

…and the most recent update,

MHSAA Summer Guidance Update #1 – 6/2/20

Based on this guidance, we are currently working with our high school and middle school coaching staff to prepare for summer workouts and activities beginning as early as the week of June 15th.  (*Please note, this is only for OUTDOOR sports and activities.  Indoor sports, such as basketball, volleyball, wrestling and swim still have restrictions in place.)  Athletes should be receiving communication from their respective coaches in the coming weeks.  This is a fluid situation and we anticipate future information & updates will be coming as things progress.  We will continue to share that information as it becomes available.
